to add, to subtract, or to let it be?

There are “empty” spaces that would benefit not from addition,
just as there are “full” spaces that would benefit not from subtraction.
If that is the case then, of course,
there are those spaces, too, that would be improved
(either by additive or subtractive synthesis).
Perhaps the real beauty lies in the space
where all of these intersect.
When the dust settles,
if I can find it,
that is where I'd like
to live and die.
